Field trip onboard the environmental protection vessel Gunnar Thorson

To design, build, and deliver the patrol vessels of the future, close interaction and collaboration with our customer and the end-users are crucial.

The new patrol vessels will be designed to handle a large number of different tasks, including patrolling, actual battle activities, and environmental tasks.

After having previously visited the current patrol vessel program (Diana) and the Danish frigate program (Iver Huitfeldt), DPS’ executive management visited the Danish Navy’s environmental protection vessel, Gunnar Thorson, on January 25.

The tour onboard the vessel was an opportunity for the DPS management to get a better understanding of the current environmental capabilities of the fleet and engage in insightful dialogues with the Commander and his crew.

In addition, the Navy Program Office, who facilitated the visit, gave valuable inputs from the customer's perspective.

We thank the Commander and his crew for their warm hospitality and the Navy Program Office for the invitation.
